Bhupesh Daheria, CEO, Aegis School of Data Science has almost attained a celebrity status within the data science fraternity after conceptualizing and organizing the largest data science event that was ever witnessed in India.
Data Science Congress 2017 event – A Confluence of Analytics, Big Data, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things & Cognitive Computing was organized by Aegis school of business, data science and telecommunication on 6th, 7th & 8th July 2017 in Mumbai India.
The event was attended by various high profile corporate and political delegates across the country and many data science professionals, students and enthusiasts. Data science congress is trying to build an ecosystem which will help India to become the center stage for the research and development of data science skills.
Mr. Bhupesh Daheria spoke at the data science congress about the approach of traditional Indian educational institutes. He says that if our universities have ‘potatoes’, they will sell ‘samosas’ irrespective of what industry needs. Aegis is trying to break that protocol. Aegis focuses on making its students industry-ready and this is reflective in their pedagogy. The institute offers programs that are a combination of latest data science technologies, real-world industry experience and hands on exposure.
Aegis has collaborated with IBM to offer high end courses in the field of Data Science, Business Analytics, Big Data, Cloud Computing and Mobility. Aegis and IBM have set up an IBM Business Analytics and IBM Cloud Computing Lab to help students and faculty members enhance their analytic skills.
During the data science congress event, Aegis also signed an Industry – Academia partnership with NVIDIA, an American technology company based in Santa Clara, California. NVIDIA is known for designing graphics processing units (GPUs) for the gaming and professional markets, and is now rapidly transforming into “the Artificial Intelligence computing company.”
Mr. Bhupesh Daheria firmly believes that there is no age for learning, and as the things around us change rapidly, there is a need to continuously learn in order to stay relevant. Aegis offers post graduate programs in data science for fresh graduates as well as for working professionals. The nature of data science is such that a deep understanding of business problems is essential to build effective analytical models. Industry experts suggest that analytical models should be developed by people who are facing the problems on the field. Industries should adopt and encourage data science methods to solve complex business problem, and subsequently hire or cross-train their staff to get equipped with the necessary skills.
